West Wollongong
The Client: Wollongong
The Brief:
The brief was to update, refresh and lighten this inner-city brick home, creating a space that felt brighter, calmer and more inviting. With cool tiled floors, limited natural light and an abundance of warm orange-toned timber, the existing home felt cold and dated.
Our aim was to transform the open-plan home into a light, homely and cosy space while retaining its character. A calm, organic aesthetic and neutral palette provided the foundation, layered with lighter timbers, classic accents of green and black, and natural textures, such as leather, brass, velvet and oak.
The Result:
Refreshing the walls, doors and staircase with Dulux Natural White throughout instantly lifted and brightened the home. Heavy existing light fittings were replaced with contemporary classic glass pendants, while soft wool rugs helped to soften the tiled floors and introduce warmth and texture.
By balancing these richer materials and classic accents with a light, neutral palette, we were able to create a home that feels fresh and modern , while remaining warm, timeless and true to the original brief.
Result is a fresh, modern coastal feel that is warm and timeless, while still feeling connected to the character of the original home.
